In this project that we collaborated on with our partner Omnis Kompozit and executed by Edda Architecture, solidian Briksy AR 100 bed joint reinforcement was installed in all PMU masonry walls. solidian Briksy was used on the walls of a villa project and selected to enhance in-plane shear capacity, improve out-of-plane stability, prevent cracks and ensure full compliance with the regulations regarding the seismic behavior of infill walls.

Key Technical Benefits of solidian Briksy in This Project

1. Increased in-plane capacity & crack control

solidian Briksy AR 100 provides high tensile strength along the bed joints, enabling:
• improved shear resistance of the infill wall,
• reduced crack widths during seismic drift,
• more uniform stiffness distribution within the wall.
This is especially effective for PMU blocks.

2. Enhanced out-of-plane stability – Reduced risk of wall collapse

solidian Briksy forms a continuous tensile reinforcement layer that improves:
• overall wall integrity,
• resistance to outward inertial forces,
• ductile behavior before failure.

3. Corrosion-free, lightweight and fast installation

Being made of AR-glass fibers, solidian Briksy is:
• corrosion resistant,
• easy to cut and position,
• significantly lighter than steel,
• perfectly compatible with thin bed-joint mortar.
