As part of the construction of its own building in Perg, Austria, HABAU Hoch- und Tiefbaugesellschaft m.b.H. implemented a curtain wall concrete façade system designed to meet high requirements in terms of durability, dimensional stability, and long-term performance.
The façade elements form part of an industrial building environment where functional reliability, controlled crack behavior, and a clean surface appearance are essential.
For the curtain wall façade, solidian GRID was used as non-corrosive reinforcement integrated into the concrete elements.
Carbon grid reinforcement offers high tensile strength while allowing for slim concrete sections. In contrast to traditional steel reinforcement, it eliminates corrosion-related risks and supports long-term durability, making it particularly suitable for façade applications exposed to environmental influences.
The use of solidian GRID enabled the realization of slender, durable concrete façade elements with controlled crack behavior and stable long-term performance.
By selecting this reinforcement solution for its own building, HABAU relied on carbon-reinforced concrete as a robust and future-oriented approach for curtain wall façade construction.
