In this project, which is applied by Mr.Rıza Elhan and his company Arı Yalıtım Danışmanlığı and with our partner Omnis Kompozit; a high-performance and durable terrace flooring system was constructed on top of an existing waterproofed surface. The system was designed as a multi-layer solution, considering both building physics and long-term service performance.
First, a spray-applied waterproofing system was applied to the terrace slab. On top of this layer, a 2 cm high drainage board was installed to create a free drainage zone, allowing water to move safely beneath the flooring system and preventing water accumulation. Above the drainage layer, thermal insulation and acoustic insulation layers were installed to improve energy efficiency and user comfort. As the final structural layer, a cement-based screed with a dosage of 250 kg/m³ was applied.
Within this floor screed layer, solidian Primafloor fiberglass reinforcement mesh was integrated. The use of solidian Primafloor provided several key benefits:
• Effective control of shrinkage- and temperature-induced cracking,
• Improved load distribution and structural integrity of the screed,
• Complete elimination of corrosion risks associated with steel reinforcement,
• A lightweight, thin, and uniformly distributed reinforcement solution.
As a result, solidian Primafloor prevented cracking of the screed layer and ensured a robust, durable, and high-performing terrace system, contributing significantly to the overall functionality and longevity of the application.
