In this project, solidian PRIMAFLOOR was used in the reinforced screed application of pedestrian walkways and common circulation areas within a residential building complex. The project was implemented by Meteor İnşaat, and our partner Omnis Kompozit was with us as always. The application was designed to ensure crack-free performance, long-term durability, and dimensional stability in areas exposed to temperature variations and service loads.

After completion of the base preparation and leveling works, thermal insulation boards were placed to improve energy efficiency and to decouple the screed layer from the structural slab. On top of the insulation layer, solidian PRIMAFLOOR was installed continuously and uniformly, ensuring full coverage of the screed area.

A cement-based screed was then applied over the reinforcement layer, fully embedding the PRIMAFLOOR mesh within the screed thickness. This reinforcement system provided the following advantages:

  • Effective control of shrinkage and cracking,
  • Improved load distribution under pedestrian traffic,
  • Increased integrity and service life of the screed layer,
  • Elimination of corrosion risks associated with traditional steel reinforcement,
  • Lightweight and easy-to-install reinforcement without increasing slab thickness.

Thanks to solidian PRIMAFLOOR, the screed layer achieved a crack-resistant, durable, and uniform structure, ensuring reliable long-term performance of the walkway and common area flooring system.
