Structural strengthening
The aim of structural reinforcement is to strengthen or restore the load-bearing capacity of a concrete component or, under certain circumstances, to increase the load-bearing capacity compared to the actual condition.
The following reinforcement methods are available:
- Reinforcing steel or reinforcing bars made of fiber-reinforced plastics can be added or replaced,
- Installation of connecting and reinforcing rods in the concrete in pre-formed grooves or drilled holes,
- Reinforcement by means of bonded steel straps or carbon fiber lamellas,
- Reinforcement by prestressing with external tendons (steel or carbon fiber strands)
- or reinforcement with flat grid structures based on carbon fiber composites - take a look at our solidian solution!
